Webinar On International Yoga Day

On the occasion of 21st International Yoga Day, The Modern School, ECNCR, in association with the Physical Education Foundation of India (PEFI), Haryana Yogasana Sports Association (HYSA) and Uttar Pradesh Yogasana Sport Association (UYSA) organised a webinar cum Yoga and Pranayama workshop on June 19, 2021, to celebrate the spirit of Yoga.

The celebrations commenced with Saraswati Vandana seeking the blessings of the Almighty. The Chief Guest , Mr. Rishi Pal, President, Uttar Pradesh Yogasana Sports Association, Guest of Honour, Mr. Rohit Kaushik ,Secretary, Haryana Yogasana Sports Association, Guest of Honour, Mr. Sunil Sharma, Uttar Pradesh Yogasana Sports Association, the revered Trustees of the school, Principals of various sister branches of Modern School and the fine assembly of parents graced the occasion with their presence.

The Principal, Ms. Abha Sadana welcomed the august gathering, reiterating the significance of yoga especially in the current times when the world is battling with the pandemic. Dr. Vijay Datta, Principal, Modern School, Barakhamba Road complimented the school for organising such a special event, focusing on the need for good health. He further enumerated the various benefits of yoga to keep the lungs healthy as well as for the holistic development of young children.

The webinar was spear headed by Mr. Manoj Kumar, Joint Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Yogasana Sport Association (UYSA). The Chief Guest, a yoga enthusiast and practitioner, urged everyone to learn and practise yoga regularly and religiously to have a healthy body and mind.

Dr. Neha Chaudhary, Yoga Guru, national gold medalist, international judge and coach and an accomplished author commenced the practice session with some of the most important asanas that students must follow and make it a part of their routine life. The parents, students as well as teachers practised yoga asanas enthusiastically as directed in the session, along with the trainer. The Yoga Guru, Acharya Kundan also talked about yoga as an invaluable gift of India to the world. He demonstrated various pranayama asanas. The students and parents enjoyed the session and felt motivated to make yoga a vital part of their daily life. The modernites looked charged and invigorated as they practised various asanas virtually. The event culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the Headmistress, Ms. Rimpy Verma.
