'Heal the world, make it a better place'

The Modern School,ECNCR organized a visit to an NGO- Goonj at Sarita Vihar, Delhi for class S6 on April 27, 2018. The objective of the drive was to sensitize the students to selfless help, compassion, empathy and their social responsibilities towards others.

The students learned about the initiatives of Goonj and how it was launched. They also witnessed the working of the dedicated and dynamic Goonj team. The process of sorting, mending and packaging of the used material collected was discussed in detail and demonstrated as well. They were further made aware of how the material was provided to those who had no access to the basic necessities of life.

The students noticed that how their small piece of discarded pencil helped in spreading literacy. It was a great experience for the young modernites as they learned the value of things they possessed and the various ways in which they could contribute to make the world a better place to live in.
