'Save trees and do not let them become a thing of the past, or their leaves will only be seen in museums.'
Conservation of environment is the need of the hour and planting trees is one of the most important way to ensure the same. 
The Interact Club of the Modern School, ECNCR Delhi organised the event of ‘ Van Mahotsav -  ‘go green’ initiative  on July 6, 2022 to promote afforestation.
The event aimed at  spreading awareness about the role played by the trees in balancing the ecosystem as well as the biosphere as a whole.
The assembly commenced with invigorating talks and poems on significance of conserving environment and planting trees. Students also sang a melodious song emphasising how today's youth should come together to save trees.
The Principal,Ms. Abha Sadana,  in her address to the students,   underlined the importance of trees for humankind.The students held  brightly coloured flags, banners and placards with quotes and slogans motivation one and all to be an active participant in preserving our earth.
Thereafter, students  planted saplings of a wide variety of hardy plants that require less water. 
They were encouraged to be responsible for  their planted pots as they carried the same back home. The premises reverberated with the enthusiasm and zeal of children filling their recycled  pots with soil lovingly planting saplings.
The curiosity to learn and the will to create the change were clearly seen in the efforts of the students. Such activities help to instill the value of responsibility as well as caring for their environment.
