On Thursday , 25th May 2023, an excursion to the Traffic Training Park at Punjabi Bagh was organised for class P1. The objective of the excursion was to reinforce the traffic training and rules with the first hand experience of the young ones.

The group was warmly welcomed at the venue by a staff representative, who gave a  guided  tour to the students . She showed and explained about the several commonly seen road signs /symbols to the students and also spent time outlining the necessity of traffic signals in the first place. This was done through a live demonstration, using flash cards.

Thereafter, some replica roads could be seen painted everywhere in the park . These also included a zebra crossing, pedestrian subway, foot-over bridge and footpath, to make the students familiar with all of them and their traffic rules and regulations as well. 
It was a pleasure watching the  students answering voluntarily and spontaneously to the questions asked by the tour guide.  The guide also demonstrated how to embark and disembark a bus, while taking all the necessary precautions. The students were also instructed for the rules to be followed, once inside the bus.
The young listeners were asked to carry home the message of road safety and the importance of safety rules. The guides particularly prompted the children to tell their parents to observe rules and not be in any undue hurry when on the road.
It was an enriching hands-on -experience for the tiny tots.
