The Modern School, ECNCR hosted ‘Sarod Recital’ under the aegis of SPIC MACAY on December 17, 2018. SPIC MACAY seeks to conserve and promote awareness of the rich culture of our country amongst the youth.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the esteemed guests, followed by the welcome address of the Principal, Ms. Abha Sadana who expressed her gratitude to the veteran artists for their visit and contributions in classical music.

The renowned Sarod player, Sh. Biswajit Chaudhary Roy accompanied by Sh. Nirmal Mondal on table mesmerised the audience with his performance. He regaled and kept the students spellbound with the beautiful rendition of various ragas of Hindustani classical music.

The students as well as the teachers not only enjoyed the musical concert but also learned many things about the cultural heritage of Indian Classical music.
