Parliament House Visit
On February 6, 2019, the students of class S4A and S6 B of The Modern School, ECNCR got the opportunity to visit the esteemed Parliament House of India. The students witnessed the chambers of the two houses of Indian Parliament- Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, as well as the common hall where the joint sessions are held.
The Parliament House is a circular colonnaded building, which also houses ministerial offices, numerous committee rooms and an excellent library as well. Conceived in the Imperial Style, the Parliament House consists of an open veranda with 144 columns.
The domed circular central hall with oak panelled walls and the three semi-circular buildings are used for the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha meetings.
The guide accompanying the group, enlightened the students about the membership and working of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha and explained about the various sections of both the chambers and their architectural significance. Overall, it was an enriching experience for the students as they were able to see the centre of all the law- making discussions and debates and enhance their knowledge about the working of the law- making body of India.
