Literacy week Nursery-P2
The students of classes Nursery-P2 celebrated Literacy Week with great zeal and enthusiasm during their online zoom sessions from September 6 to September 10, 2021. They were explained in detail about the importance of the week.
On day 1, they were narrated a story that highlighted the importance of literacy for an individual, a society, a country and the entire world at large .
Students made wonderful donation boxes on day 2 and donated different things like clothes, toys, books to read etc. to the poor and needy children.
They were briefed about family literacy on the third day which motivated them to teach their grandparents how to use gadgets.
D.E.A.R activity (Drop Everything and Read) was held on day 4 to reinforce the significance of being literate. Students also learned how to create a small library of their own with their favourite books. The young minds were encouraged to develop reading habit.
A special assembly was held on the last day wherein a powerpoint presentation was shown to enlighten the students about Literacy Day as well as Hindi Diwas which is celebrated on September 14 every year. The country's most widely spoken language was celebrated by one and all.
The Literacy Week emphasised on the need to have literate societies.
