Himalaya House Assemby on World Food Day
Food is the essence of life and everyone must have access to healthy and nutritious food. To make the students understand the importance of our basic necessity- food and to celebrate World Food Day, a special assembly was organised by the students of classes P1-P5 from Himalaya House on October 16, 2020.
The assembly commenced with the melodious prayer by Ms. Pranamika Goswami. The ‘Thought of the day’ was presented by Manraj Singh of class P3A and Sayesha Dang of class P1C where they quoted Mahatma Gandhi’s words that our health is far more important than gold and silver coins. The news was presented by Samaira Sukhani of class P4A, Arsh Garg of class P2A and weather report was read out by Abria Aggarwal of P1B. It was followed by a talk presented by Kavish from class P3A and Roneisha Anand of Class P1B, who enlightened us with the need to provide heathy and nutritious food to all, especially the most vulnerable and poor sections of the world. The guidelines given by FAO for the year 2020- Grow, Nourish, Sustain, Together were discussed.
A beautiful poem on the importance of food was recited by Aarav Dahiya of P4A and Krishiv Gulati of P1C presented a song on healthy and junk food. A dance presentation by Nishka Sharda of Class P1C on healthy food habits left everyone spellbound. Show and Tell on being healthy was presented by Ruhaan Wadhwa of Class P1A. The assembly concluded with a melodious bhajan by Soham Jain of class P4B.
The lockdown during the ongoing pandemic has made us realise the worth of many things in our life which were taken for granted by all of us. The fact that one should not waste food and help the ones in need by feeding them was reiterated during the assembly.
