Educational excursions are a great way of acquainting the students with first-hand information and providing knowledge of our history and culture. It gives a long-lasting learning experience to the students and enables them to discover the varied aspects related to a place.

The students of class P3 got an opportunity to visit the holy city of Amritsar through a virtual platform on December 31, 2020. They visited the various historical places of the city.

First of all, they visited the Golden Temple popularly known as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib. It is one of the holiest gurudwaras of the Sikhs. The students joined their hands and enchanted the Sikh religious prayer ‘ Ek Onkar Satnam….’. Then they visited Wagah Border. They got to know about the accepted Radcliffe Line, the boundary demarcating the territories of India and Pakistan. The students were fascinated to know about the beating retreat ceremony, the ceremony of the flag lowering in the evening conducted by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and the Pakistan Rangers (PR) at the border.

Thereafter, the students visited the Jallianwala Bagh and they were enlightened about its historical importance. The students were really touched by the history of the remarkable garden. They also visited Durgiana Temple, Sadda Pind and Gobindgarh Fort etc. Finally, they visited the war memorial and got to know about the splendid gallantry deeds of the brave hearts of Punjab. The memorial-museum houses nine state-of-the-art galleries built to showcase Punjab's martial tradition and military campaigns from the era of Sri Hargobind Singh ji , the sixth of the ten Sikh Gurus till Operation Parakram in 2002 through photographs, illustrations, paintings, artifacts, weapons and interactive panels. The students were mesmerized to see the War Memorial and Partition Museum.

The trip was immensely enjoyed by all the students and they made numerous good memories to cherish forever.
