The Modern School, ECNCR celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2019 with great gusto and zest. It was aimed to sensitize the issue of environment protection in the young generation urging them to make a lifestyle change that would impact not only those within the school but also the community outside of the school.

A special assembly was conducted by the students of Himachal House in the school assembly hall. The eminent guest of the day, Ms.Madhuri Nanda, an environmentalist also graced the occasion and engaged an interactive session on protecting our planet. A PowerPoint presentation on the theme. ‘Protecting our species’ created awareness and awakened a sense of responsibility towards nature in the students.

A small quiz was followed by the presentation. The Principal, Ms. Abha Sadana in her address urged the children to be grateful to Mother Earth for her bounty; reminded them of their responsibility towards her and administered an oath to protect our planet and save our fast depleting resources.

Various activities were conducted to commemorate the day. Students of classes S1 to S7 planted saplings during the tree plantation activity in the school premises.

Slogan writing activity was conducted for the students of classes P2 to S7. The best slogans were selected and displayed in the school.

The day reiterated the concern regarding our planet earth and instigated the young modernites to save, love and protect ‘Mother Earth’.
