Child Labour Assembly Report
Vindhyanchal House students of classes P3-S7 conducted a virtual assembly on 'Creating Awareness about Child Labour' on June 10 and 11, 2021.
The purpose of the assembly was to create awareness among the students regarding the present status of children engaged in various activities all over the world and the dire need to make the world a better place for the children to grow and thrive in.
The students presented inspirational thoughts and talks on the topic, to bring home the fact that taking a strict stand against the inhumane practice could bring about a phenomenal change. They also pledged to discourage it. Special performances like skits and dances exhibited how children were forced to work for various reasons. It was emphasised that the need of the hour was to acknowledge the fact that the children were the future of the country and to preserve the future, child labour had to be discouraged in all walks of life.
A short PowerPoint Presentation was shown to elucidate the hazards of child labour. Students were sensitised towards the harmful mental and physical problems faced by the children who were forced into child labour, around the world. It also gave an opportunity to the students to develop an efficient mechanism to combat a few specific issues that led to child labour.
