Baisakhi Assembly Nur-S7

Keeping with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with fervour and gaiety as well as familiarising the students with their rich culture and heritage, a special assembly was conducted on Baisakhi by Himachal House students on April 11, 2022 from classes Nur-S7.
The aim was to create awareness about the importance of the day and significance of celebrating the harvest festival. The students of class Nursery- KG looked resplendent in colourful Punjabi attire and performed Bhangra. Students were told about the fact that Baisakhi marked the foundation of Khalsa community of Sikhs and was celebrated as the harvest festival in Punjab and Haryana. The significance of the festival was brought out in the informative talk on why we wear yellow on this day.  A presentation on highlighting the importance of harvest festivals across the country and the various ways in which they are celebrated in different states was shared with all. Assembly concluded with the lively Punjabi folk dance by the students of class P5 to S3.
The exuberant minds also indulged in various activities throughout the day on April 13 as P3-P5 students created artifacts like wall hangings, clay models and dhols using waste material thus celebrating the day by decorating their classes revelling in full festival spirit.
